Art Rotterdam is the international art fair that keeps you up-to-date about the latest developments in contemporary art. Seventy international contemporary art galleries present their most exciting artists in the departure hall of the Holland America Line.

Object Rotterdam is the international fair for autonomous design and will take place simultaneously in the building Las Palmas, opposite Art Rotterdam. Twenty international participants present unique or limited edition functional objects in the field of current design, crafts and jewellery.

The museum occupies an unique position in The Netherlands where over 100 years of Dutch photography can be found. The museum holds moreover 130 archives of Dutch photographers (among them: Ed van der Elsken, Cas Oorthuys, Aart Klein and Frits Rotgans). Their oeuvres provide a vivid picture of Dutch, and sometimes also foreign, society in the 19th and 20th century. The museum also collects complete influential Dutch photo projects and albums.

The museum has the only studio specialized in photo conservation and restoration in the Netherlands. The studio conserves and restores photographical material of the museum collection and of other (inter)national museums, collections and archives. Witte de With was established in 1990 as a center for contemporary art with the mission of introducing contemporary art and theory in the context of the City of Rotterdam as well as the Netherlands as a whole.

The institution initially sought to present an alternative to both the classic museum for modern art and existing artists' initiatives. Over the years, Witte de With has evolved, growing to also commission and produce new works of art. This has resulted in the development of a local, national and international network of people and organisations who follow and actively support the institution's activities. From the very start, many of these were accompanied by or documented in publications, which are now widely distributed and read.
