Casco was founded as a platform for experimental art. It has developed a critical programme that explores art in the public realm. In 2005 Casco took the new title of 'office for art, design and theory' in order to set a wider agenda towards an interdisciplinary practice.
Casco maintains a questioning approach to culture, which is also applied to its own position in the cultural field. Besides pursuing different modes of artistic production, Casco seeks to open its own infrastructure up to experimentation.

Manifesta, the roving European Biennial of Contemporary art, changes its location every two years. Manifesta purposely strives to keep its distance from what are often seen as the dominant centres of artistic production, instead seeking fresh and fertile terrain for the mapping of a new cultural topography.
Each Manifesta biennial aims to investigate and reflect on emerging developments in contemporary art, set within a European context. In doing so, we present local, national and international audiences with new aspects and forms of artistic expression.

Marres has a specific approach to the contemporary field of art and design. Through a more anthropological approach, both disciplines are positioned in their broader cultural perspective.
Marres initiates exhibitions, lectures, research, publications and projects, rooted in a cultural, philosophical background and a specific interest in the problem of actuality. The relation with the immediate local environment is often employed as a means to refine a more universal agenda in order to produce innovative exhibition models.

Metropolis M is a non-profit bilingual magazine on contemporary art. It is a commentator on new developments in art and culture, which it tries to put in perspective through critical discussion. Metropolis M likes to position its discourse halfway between the powerful German and Anglo-American critical traditons and the philosophical leanings in the south - of Belgium and France.
At the crossroads of artistic, cultural, and critical discourse Metropolis M can present beautiful panoramas which at times are insightful, clearing things up, and at other times, just a happy jumble.

The MMKA strives to be a museum recognised for quality and experimentation. Each year the museum develops a recognisable substantive programme with a clear rhythm. The organisation of exhibitions is primarily focused on ‘forms of realism’ and ‘art from Arnhem’.
The MMKA also regularly displays objects or temporary exhibitions of decorative arts and visual art from before 1900. In addition, the museum is interested in acting as a platform for recent and current art and design from Arnhem, and in organising exhibitions of international visual art that fit its profile.

The Netherlands Architecture Institute (NAI) is more than a museum of architecture. It is above all a cultural institute which is open to the public and which uses a variety of methods for communicating about the shaping of human space.
The NAI produces exhibitions, organizes debates and lectures, conducts research and implements world-class educational programmes. It also boasts an unrivalled architecture archive and library both of which are open to everyone. The NAI informs, inspires and stimulates a broad public: live at our headquarters, but also internationally and digitally. The NAI encourages wide-spread recognition of the role architecture can play in addressing the major issues of our day.

Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven
Posted by: Van Abbemuseum
The Van Abbemuseum is one of the first public museums for contemporary art to be established in Europe. The museum’s collection of around 2700 works of art includes key works and archives by Lissitzky, Picasso, Kokoschka, Chagall, Beuys, McCarthy, Daniëls and Körmeling.
The museum has an experimental approach towards art’s role in society. We challenge ourselves and our visitors to think about art and its place in the world, covering a range of subjects, including the role of the collection as a cultural 'memory' and the museum as a public site. International collaboration and exchange have made the Van Abbemuseum a place for creative cross-fertilisation and a source of surprise, inspiration and imagination for its visitors and participants.

Witte de With was established in 1990 as a center for contemporary art with the mission of introducing contemporary art and theory in the context of the City of Rotterdam as well as the Netherlands as a whole.
The institution initially sought to present an alternative to both the classic museum for modern art and existing artists' initiatives. Over the years, Witte de With has evolved, growing to also commission and produce new works of art. This has resulted in the development of a local, national and international network of people and organisations who follow and actively support the institution's activities. From the very start, many of these were accompanied by or documented in publications, which are now widely distributed and read.
