The Gemeentemuseum houses one of the largest collections of modern and contemporary art in The Netherlands. The museum houses the largest collection of works by Piet Mondrian and De Stijl in the world. Other important parts of the collection are works by Francis Bacon, Constant, German Expressionism.
Together with The Hague Museum of Photography and GEM, Museum of contemporary art, the Gemeentemuseum forms The Hague Museums of Modern Art. These museums organise approximately 50 exhibitions a year.

Stroom organises exhibitions, projects, lectures, events, workshops and excursions.
